水之道無形無相，以無形對萬形，以無相應萬相，因勢而轉，因境而換，無形乃真形也。如人之心好動而性好靜，以心應境以性安心，則可以久處安然應變萬千，心性如水則可容天地靜觀自得，人習水性自能寛容，遠爭禍而長久安，故以水為榜可化災轉禍趨福，可涵養海闊胸襟。
Lao Tzu said, “The highest form of goodness is like water. Water benefits all things instead of competing with them.” Learning the virtue of water, which is letting things take their own course and non-competing, can resolve human conflicts and disputes.
