欲成上等之材，需在事上磨煉。在事境中，才能觀看到自己是否起心動念，是否有貪嗔痴愛欲的波動。不為外境所動的定力並非一朝一夕所能成就，而是要在事項中歷經無數次捶打磨煉而成的。可是，每經一次磨煉，妄心就能被破掉一次，定力就能更強一點，心性的火候就能更堅實一點。當妄心、塵垢不斷的被磨去，真智慧才能漸漸地彰顯出來
